Through its journeys and encounters, La Maison du Whisky has developed strong relationship with brands and historic distilleries, whose products it distributes without any intermediary, working together to develop an exciting and comprehensive range of special products every year. With a rich portfolio of 4,500 spirits, La Maison du Whisky offers products from across the globe. Drawing on its network of close partners, La Maison du Whisky is France’s exclusive distributor for Scotland and the world’s biggest whisky names.

In the world of rum, La Maison du Whisky represents some fifty brands and offers exceptional bottlings, notably through its joint venture with its Italian partner Velier, La Maison & Velier.
Present in Asia since 2006, La Maison du Whisky has gradually become a leading name in the South-East Asia spirits market. Inspired by Whisky Live Paris, in 2011 La Maison du Whisky Singapore launched the first Whisky Live Singapore.

In Paris
Through its three stores in Paris and the Golden Promise bar, La Maison du Whisky accompanies newcomers and connoisseurs in their discovery of new whiskies and spirits in France.
Each location showcases a rich selection and its own speciality in a unique setting, with whisky given pride of place at Rue d’Anjou, rum the star at Carrefour de l’Odéon, and Japanese whisky and sake the VIPs at Rue Tiquetonne.

The shop at 20 Rue d’Anjou in Paris’s 8th arrondissement has been a favourite meeting place for experienced connoisseurs and adventurous newcomers since 1968. A temple of whisky spanning more than 200 m2, this location offers an extraordinary selection of more than 2,000 products from the finest distilleries and producers across the world, often exclusively. In the basement, the Islay Room is home to 150 peated whiskies from the island’s distilleries. Nextdoor, the Collectors Room houses 700 bottles of whiskies from Scotland. The Lab showcases the range from The Avant Gardists platform.

Located at 11 Rue Tiquetonne, this address is home to both La Maison du Whisky and La Maison du Saké, offering an unmissable destination for fans of exceptional spirits and sakes, foodies and cocktail lovers. The store offers a range of more than 650 whiskies and spirits from across the world, as well as 100 sakes from Japan’s finest breweries.
Downstairs, the Golden Promise whisky bar offers two tasting areas, a unique selection of a thousand whiskies, many collectors’ items, some 40 rums, including bottlings from closed distilleries such as Caroni, and an original menu of cocktails. The Collectors Lounge, designed in the style of a private speakeasy, offers access to rare bottlings by the glass.

Founded in 2010, the store at 6 carrefour de l’Odéon offers a range of over 2,400 spirits, including 450 different rums and a number of bar and mixology accessories. The first floor is dedicated entirely to rum.

Whisky.fr
since 1997
Created in 1997, whisky.fr was the first online whisky and spirits store. Every year, six million visitors from all around the world browse the 5,000 products available there. This selection is constantly updated, with dozens of new releases arriving daily. The site receives more than 16,000 unique visitors per day and some 80,000 orders every year.
Since 2022, the site has included The Avant Gardists, a fully digital platform dedicated to young brands and innovative distilleries, showcasing an original selection of niche and artisanal products.

Creations
Whether designing a new product range or new packaging for the brands in its portfolio, creation is very much a part of La Maison du Whisky’s DNA. Since 2011, several ranges of bottlings dedicated to Scotland and the world’s whiskies, as well as French spirits and rums, have been released.
Collections
by LMDW
Every year, La Maison du Whisky offers its customers new editions in collections dedicated to whisky (Artist, Artist Collective, Ex-Libris and Version Française), rum (Transcontinental Rum Line) and other spirits (Through The Grapevine).
La Maison du Whisky also releases numerous limited editions in one-off ranges and gift sets dedicated to the world of spirits… In 2019, La Maison du Whisky even expanded its skills to include spirits production, with the Port-au-Prince distillery in Haiti through LM&V.

Collection
Since it was first founded, La Maison du Whisky has developed a collection of spirits that reflects decades of close relationships with top independent bottlers such as Signatory Vintage, Gordon & MacPhail and Douglas Laing, numerous distilleries such as Glendronach, Ardbeg, Port Ellen and Macallan, and various companies, including Nikka Whisky, Number One Drinks, Whyte & Mackay and Benriach Plc.
A specialist in premium spirits, La Maison du Whisky naturally supports the trend for collectable bottlings through a range of rare whiskies, rums and French spirits.
In 2020, the online auction site Fine Spirits Auction (FSA) was launched to meet demand from collectors. Created in partnership with IdealWine, the leading French online wine auction, FSA gives professionals and the general public the opportunity to securely buy and sell spirits that have been valued by specialists. Every year, FSA publishes a barometer report exploring the trends in the premium spirits market.

Training
La Maison du Whisky is driven by a desire to share its knowledge of spirits with the world. It values education and product introductions through masterclasses and tastings for trade professionals and the general public.

Academies
Whisky, spirits & cocktail academies
Aimed at the general public, the academies run by La Maison du Whisky’s specialists offer all spirits and cocktails fans—from newcomers to connoisseurs—the tools they need to discover this universe, its techniques and expertise. A host of different themes are explored to assist whisky, rum and spirits fans in their discoveries.
Professional
Training
These training courses are aimed at specialist retailers and hospitality professionals and are run by a certified La Maison du Whisky trainer. Dedicated to trends in the spirits market, courses are made-to-measure and can, for example, be used to offer sales teams training in a special day-long course.


WSET certification and LMDW professional courses
LMDW
The world leader in wine training, the Wine & Spirits Education Trust has provided specialist spirits certifications for some years. To offer this training, La Maison du Whisky has teamed up with WiSP, a Bordeaux-based WSET training specialist establishe din 2009.
These level 2 and 3 spirits courses are held in the heart of Paris at the LAB (Rue Anjour store) in small groups with a maximum of ten participants. Run by an LMDW training expert, courses offer the keys to understanding production methods, and teach students how to describe and assess spirits using the WSET approach. A final exam offer students the opportunity to gain official WSET certification, a diploma renowned and recognized throughout the spirits sector.

Events
Whisky Live Paris
From London to Tokyo, Paris to Glasgow and New York to Cape Town, Whisky Live is held every year in fifteen cities around the world.
Through its subsidiary Figure de Still, La Maison du Whisky has organized Whisky Live since 2004. This Parisian get-together has become Europe’s largest spirits event.

The tasting fair offers a unique opportunity to explore and taste the best whiskies and spirits from around the world, guided by producers, master distillers and blenders and the industry’s leading experts. Since 2011, La Maison du Whisky Singapore has held its own edition of Whisky Live in Singapore.

Held in the heart of Paris since 2017, the La Maison trade fair offers specialist retailers, bartenders and restaurant owners the chance to discover La Maison du Whisky’s new brands and spring releases.
This annual event is a key opportunity for trade professionals to meet with the La Maison du Whisky teams and guest producers.

Whisky Magazine & Fine Spirits
Whisky Magazine & Fine Spirits covers all aspects of the world of spirits, from history, producer countries and distilleries, to brands, manufacturing techniques, and key figures. Additionally, it offers an insight into numerous new releases and tasting notes. The magazine also covers spirits news through the whiskymag.fr website.

The Creation Catalogue
Since 1968, La Maison du Whisky’s creation catalogue has been released every year with a new collection of exclusive, limited edition bottlings. This publication is the fruit of more than six months of careful selection work at La Maison du Whisky, with teams working with brands and distilleries across the world. Covering more than 200 new releases, its insight into the spirits industry’s current trends is hotly awaited by the general public and trade professionals alike.

Flammarion Collection Director
In the late 1990s, La Maison du Whisky released its first publications dedicated to spirits through Flammarion, in its role as director of the house’s Whisky & Spirits Collection. This bibliography reflects the educational approach intrinsic to the values of La Maison du Whisky, which has given its expert approval to works such as Dave Broom’s Whisky: The Manual and Luca Gargano’s Atlas du Rhum.
